Home is Where the Art is: Metropolitan Artist Lofts set to open September 2012

Grand Center has a wealth of beautiful buildings but one of my favorites has always been the Metropolitan Building on the corner of Grand and Olive. I just love the glazed white brick with its yellow accent patterns and have always imagined the view of Grand Center from one of those tall windows must be spectacular.

In September of 2012, the Metropolitan Building at 500 North Grand will officially reopen as the Metropolitan Artist Lofts and will be home to dozens of local artists. The newly-renovated building will feature 72 lofts and four on-property studios including a painting and drawing studio, pottery studio, and dance studio.

After years of admiring the Metropolitan building, I was thrilled to have the chance to take a tour of the soon-to-open Metropolitan Artist Lofts. During the preview tour, we got to see the loft spaces, the renovation progress and, of course, the beautiful views of Grand Center. The lofts are looking amazing and I can't wait to see the finished studios where future residents will rehearse, create and collaborate. What could be a more perfect setting for artists to live, work, and play than right here in Grand Center?

The Fabulous view overlooking Grand Boulevard.

Each kitchen features great amenities including a built-in microwave and wine rack.

The tall windows in each unit let in lots of natural sunlight and offer some gorgeous views!
